As the Government continue to issue regular updates and guidance for the public and businesses, a dedicated team of SCL staff are tracking this daily and are working to ensure that there are appropriate measures in place to reflect this advice.
The health and wellbeing of our learners, partners, staff and their families is paramount and with this in mind, we are now operating a work from home policy for all staff that can do so.
After the Government announcement on 18th March 2020, you will be aware of the decision to close all schools on Friday 20th March 2020 until further notice. With this decision extending to the FE sector and all private education providers, we at SCL Education & Training are required to follow the same course of action.
With this in mind, we wanted to take this opportunity to update you on the proactive steps that SCL Education & Training are taking to support our learners, partners and staff during these difficult times.
We have ensured that we are prepared for most eventualities and through using innovative platforms, ideas and methods we will ensure all learners have every opportunity to fulfil their potential and achieve their qualification by their planned course end date.
A dedicated team of SCL staff have been preparing for a seamless move across to online learning, and all tutors and students have received training to use an online delivery platform. Students have each been allocated a timetable, enabling them to continue their studies with the dedicated support of their tutor.
While at the time of publication, we have not received any final confirmation regarding the payment of bursaries, we will continue to ensure that we post regular updates here, and share these with learners during their online sessions with their tutor.
Safeguarding our learners and staff
We appreciate that this is a time of uncertainty for everyone. It is therefore essential that we continue to fully engage our learners in continuing their studies which will ensure that they achieve their grade at the end of the academic year, as planned.
Our Head of Safeguarding and her dedicated team will remain in place during this difficult time, as we continue to promote positive mental health and wellbeing for our learners, their parents/carers, our partners and staff.
We know that you will have a lot of queries relating to different scenarios you might be facing. This is our dedicated page to communicate the latest information so please check regularly for updates.
With the landscape changing daily, we will continue to adapt our approach as new governmental, health authority and regulatory guidance comes to light, and we will keep you informed every step of the way.
We recognise that for all of us, these are extraordinary times. As we work through this together, we would like to assure you that we are doing everything that we can to ensure a seamless experience during this difficult time.
We are working closely with our schools, academies, clubs, partners, affiliates and each of the local and national authorities to protect our learners, their parents/carers, and staff as best we can within our control.
We appreciate your cooperation and understanding at this time and thank you for your continued support of SCL and the health and wellbeing of our learners.
