Special Educational Needs & Disabilities

Special Educational Needs & Disabilities (SEND)

Our SEND team work closely with our curriculum managers and tutors to ensure that all learners are given the best opportunities to succeed with SCL.

If you have an Educational Health and Care Plan (EHCP) or have a learning difficulty or disability, please contact our Special Educational Needs and Disabilities coordinator (SENDCo) before making a formal application. It is important that we have the correct information to ensure that we can meet your support needs.

Support options that we can offer may include:

  • 1 to 1 or small group in class support
  • 1 to 1 or small group out of class support
  • 1 to 1 or small group remote online support
  • Exam Access Arrangements support: reader/scribe/prompt etc

When you contact our SEND team we will talk about your needs, in a confidential discussion, to ascertain the level of support required.

It is important that you contact our SEND team to tell us if you think you might be entitled to Exam Access Arrangements as soon as possible, to ensure that these are in place well in advance and in line with Awarding Body timescales.
